Look beach perfect
Step 1: Prep hair
The great thing about this hairstyle is that it's versatile. It works with dirty or clean hair! If you've just woken up or just gotten out of the shower, make sure your hair is damp -- not sopping wet or too dry -- and finger-comb it so it's a bit messy. If you have curly hair, then you may want to straighten it first a little and then dampen it a tad. For straight hair, the damper, the better.
Step 2: Put in product
The best hair product to use to get those fresh-out-of-the-ocean waves, is a product with sea salt in it. Sea salt will give your hair that perfect wave and a bit of a crunch too. Bumble and bumble's Surf Spray will give you a nice, natural wave with a few spritzes on your tresses. KMS Hair Play Sea Salt Spray is more budget-friendly and works for a nice wave. If you have any curl or wave in your hair, you may want to spritz all over your hair.
Step 3: Scrunch
Once you've spritzed on your sea salt spray, scrunch 1-inch pieces of hair a couple times to get the wave going. Then take 1 to 1-1/2 inch pieces of hair and pin them up. Use bobby pins to secure the pieces of hair and leave them pinned for a half hour. Pinning up your hair will guarantee waves, at the least.
Step 4: Shake it out
After 30 minutes, take out the pins. Finger-comb out the pieces of hair, and then flip your head upside-down. Shake out your hair upside-down, and then give it a quick scrunching, while still upside-down. This will give you volume and body. Flip your hair up and give your tresses a couple more squirts of sea salt to finish off your beach hair look.
