Android v4.4 Kitkat is the latest version of the Google’s Android OS. It is the successor to the Jelly bean 4.3 OS. So what Kitkat is bringing to the table, lets take a brief look at the new features in Android Kitkat.

Google Experience Launcher :
Searching google has been made more easier and intuitive in Kitkat. To search, Tap anywhere on the persistent Google search bar on your home screen, scroll all the way to left. Just say “OK Google” when on home-screen to activate touch free search. 

Screen Recording :
The new screen recording feature is nice little utility google has added to the new KitKat OS which allows you to reccord what’s going on the phone

Hangouts 2.0 :
The latest version of Google Hangouts 2.0 has been added to Kitkat OS. Users will be able to import text message conversations directly into the app as well as being afforded the ability to send and receive SMS and MMS directly within Hangouts

Improved Keyboard :
A number of improvements have been made to the native keyboard that comes with Google Kitkat OS. Major ones are – inclusion of Emoji characters(Japanese emoticons) that allow you to express better, space aware gesture typing and long press full stop gesture.

Caller ID :
KitKat-powered devices will dip into Google Places and Google Apps to present users with the ability to search for nearby contacts. Google has further plans to include all those users that have given their phone number for their accounts.

Chromecast Support :
Google’s Chromecast HDMI dongle is supported in 4.4 KitKat for wireless streaming of content such as Netflix and YouTube

Contacts :
The new version of contact app prioritizes Contacts on the basis of how many times you have called. 

Faster Multi Tasking :
Multi-tasking is already pretty good in Android, but Google says the latest version will perform Multi-tasking better than the previos versions due to memory optimization.

Print Anywhere :
Android 4.4 gives you the ability to print to any printer connected to Google Cloud Print, or HP ePrint printers, and other printers that have apps in the Google Play Store
